GESBC-9260S no serial response
Question embedded.user writes "I recently bought an embedded linux board from glomation, specifically the GESBC-9260S. The serial port is silent, i dont get a response when using minicom (hyperterminal), it is not my computer's problem as i have no problem talking to MikroTik RouterBOARDS. I have set the bits per second to 115200, 8 data bits, no parity. Am i missing something? I have read the manual thoroughly and does not give any advice in this situation. Is there anyway to communicate with the board through some other port? such as ethernet port?"

uClinux on stm32f103 problem
Question neo17_04 writes "Hi everybody, I need an help on using uClinux on stm32f103. The problem is I need to develop an application which makes to communicate microcontroller and PC via USB. So I made an application that I want to run from uClinux shell. To configure usb protocol, I need to change priority group and access to SCB -> AIRCR register (0xE000 0000 of Cortex-M3 internal peripherals memory). Moreover NVIC register are also located into Cortex-M3 internal peripherals memory. The problem is that when I launch my application from shell, I got a segmentation fault when the operating system runs the part related to "USB_interrupt_configuration". I think I don't have appropriate privilege to access to those registers. In fact when I run the function "__get_control()" included in "core_cm3.c" file, I got the value "0x0000003". Am I wrong? So what can I do to have complete access to stm32f103 registers when i develop an application that I want to run under uClinux operating system? xcopilot + uclinux make fail

There is a note, on the website, "Providing all the correct libraries are in place, the result will be an Xcopilot that is ready to use." I'm not sure what the "correct" libraries are? I'd be really grateful for any assistance. Thanks, Jon"

Converting a Hardware GUI to a Web Interface
Question John Vickers writes "Hey everyone! I am looking for a solution to a problem. I have some hardware we are developing at work that currently uses RS232 to interface with a control GUI I have written. We have just recently started demoing the hardware to prospective buyers and I am being told over and over that the control interface needs to be a web interface. (The hardware is a Free Space Optical Link - Gigabit over the air) I figure the easiest way to provide this functionality without a board redesign is to use an embedded computer with an RS232 port, web server, and RJ45 port to host a Web Interface that can talk over the RS232 port to our board beside it. I want to do this for as cheap as possible, so it seems like it would be better to go with linux than windows, but I don't even know where to start on this project. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks!"
